Over three days and several calls with TMobile and Samsung they couldn't unlocked it for me so i had to do it down there and was charged RD500. I then faxed TMobile the receipt and my account was credited $15. I've been with TMobile since 1998 (Omnipoint back then) so i guess that helps, they are always very nice with me.

Not all CDMA phone can be activated, must be under 1900 MHz frecuency, Actually my phone is a Motorola V262 and I have 2 numbers, main line with Centennial other Verizon, I use verizon to send txt messages, the most of my friends has verizon and is more expensive for me to send txt message from centennial to other companies, if I go out of centennial?s coverage I can use then the other line or make a forward to verizon line.

I believe there are 4 CDMA Bands.. 850,900,1800,1900, correct? Does Verizon only work on 1900? Where is Verizon Dominicana? Is that the best place to "program" the phones? Free sounds good...I'll buy lots of cards from them!! I am in Cabarete. I am planning on bringing several phones with me my next trip back - April 1st(anyone looking for a phone, let me know!) Some are sprint and some are verizon...also have some GSM phones.

Do I understand correctly? If I have a Cingular phone purchased in the US, I can switch that phone to orange by means of a new SIM card. Correct?

If I switch the phone to Orange, can I get their flex plan for the phone, or would I be limited to using Orange cards?

Yes, I switched my Cingular phone to Orange, even though I use pre-paid cards, I do not forsee any problems switching to their flex plans, since your phone will be on their network.

Also, I lost my saved phone numbers(US) when I switched back to Cingular, I believe there might be a way to save your address book on your battery instead of your SIM card.
