Cerveza Canita - Cerveceria Punta Cana
They have it here in Puerto Plata in a lot of places (Jumbo, LA Sirena, Liqormarket, Vocatus, etc) for years now.
Thanks. I'll check it out. They had both cans and on draught at an event I was at in Punta Cana - I really liked their Amber Lager.
Go to their Website. They have 2 lagers. CANITA AMBER LAGER and CANITA LIGHT LAGER. I had it on draft but they had lots of cans there as well.
I saw that but never noticed it in those places. They probably were out when I was there.
With the bridge out, trips to Puerto Plata are less frequent.
It's without a doubt the worst beer I have ever had. I know tastes vary but this is awful beer. It's the brain child of one or the kids whose family owns the Punta Cana airport and most of Groupo Punta Cana.
For a time it was the only beer available at PUJ but when beer sales pretty much stopped they allowed other brands back. Thank God they haven't messed with rum yet.

In my opinion it's worse than Bud Lite which is basically flavored water not beer. We did a baseball game a few months ago. The guy that got the beer for the bus never tried Canita before and bought a 24 pack. More than half where left as no one wanted to drink it. Says a lot when 14 people in the bus would sooner go without beer than drink Canita.
