Great question. Yes they have a branch in the Capital. It is one of the banks that I deal with in the states. Naturally I thought this is where I will establish a relationship and use it for transfers etc. Two or three months ago before I knew the address of their location in SD I went to a branch in the states.i spoke to one of the greeters at the front of the bank and asked for info. She knows nothing but goes and gets a list of of countries that have a Citibank branch. DR not on list. I go back to my office. Yep. Address is listed next day I go back to local branch. Basically same thing but this time I need to sit with one of the mucky moks. She goes gets the list. Lol. Same thing. Ok guys, I'm no fool and this is foolishness. She says I'll get the manager. Sounds good. Yeah right. Basically she didn't know the answer but "explained it" in some gibberish about a worldwide bank, groups, needs of bla bla bla.Does anyone use this bank? It says on their site that they have a location in Santo Dominigo.
Thanks

Don't confuse Banco Popular of Puerto Rico and Banco Popular of the Dominican Republic. While the former has some shares on the latter from the day it was founded, they are two separate companies. Consumer branches found in certain areas of the USA are almost always part of the Banco Popular de Puerto Rico.Banko Popular also have branches and offices in the USA. But absolutely no transactions between the two countries.

Regarding Citibank in Dominican Republic, as has been stated already, it's open to Dominican businesses and international corporations that has operations in the DR, namely American ones. Anyone searching for consumer branches will be searching for a long time in the DR. If someone needs an Anglo-bank to do their finances, that's what Scotiabank is for. lol

Different Popular - as far as I know....
Pto Rico the US one - methinks
I have dealt with them in the check cashing business
