An unusual frontal system is making its way through the Dominican Republic. More than bringing chilly northern weather, the system has been about very strong wind gusts, abnormal swells especially on the Atlantic Coast, cloudy skies, short stormy rain, and impressive sunsets.
The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) says that the weather conditions will continue to be dominated by the frontal system as it brings humidity to our forecast area, and maintains a favorable environment for cloudy weather with moderate intensity downpours at times, thunderstorms and strong gusts of wind locally, especially towards the provinces through Wednesday, 7 February 2024.
Reports are the intense wind gusts caused major damages to farming in the C”onstanza valley area.
