The Ministry of Public Health Coronavirus Bulletin #696 with the deadline of 12 February 2022 reports 422 new cases, down from the previous day (1,129 cases). The death rate continues to drop and is now at 0.76%, one of the lowest in the Americas.
Ministry of Public Health director of Epidemiology, Dr. Ronald Skewes has said the fifth wave with the Omicron variant has leveled off and active cases have been dropping since the end of January 2022.
Bulletin #696 reports active Covid-19 cases are 3,347, significantly down from the previous day (5,471). The number of cases is below the peak of 55,773 active cases registered for the 5th of July 2021 deadline.
