No Dominicana ?

No. The lovelies were left over invited guests to a function I held on 15 march, before all the nonsense and silliness began. They opted to remain, and we endured this State of Emergency and toque de queda together. Troubled times indeed.

Until 1 June.....
Cabañas are now opened three extra hours daily. One hour on the front end, two hours on the back.
Except for Sundays, when you only gain the one hour on the front.

Wonderful !!!

The Doms use them on long weekends as motels for families...

La Entrada being a perfect example....
children on bikes in the driveway..... a family affair - so to speak

My friend put together this breakdown by province --
=============================================================================
I thought it useful to report on the number of active cases in each province as of today using the latest MoH figures. every province has an active case as of today. Allowing for asymptomatic cases and under reporting due to testing levels and province population and then think of the potential transmission for each active cases and you may be able to assess the risk where you are.

to make such numbers clear it would be very helpful(and change some parts significantly) if there would be added How Many tests been taken by each province/area, to detect the mentioned numbers of cases.
the numbers of tests done in the DR by now are a such small amount, that the stats are insignificant to take conclusions about anything.

So many families in DR are in absolute crisis now, short of food, no money to pay the rent. If the tourists don't come back soon, then you are going to see waves or crime, starvation and disease which will make Covid look like a walk in the park. And I imagine it will not be a pleasant place to live for expats.

It's what I've been saying for the longest.

FINANCIAL COLLAPSE- the bond and stock markets CHECK

ECONOMIC COLLAPSE- massive unemployment CHECK

SOCIETAL COLLAPSE- PENDING

The final stage iis one of the causative factors in political revolutions, regime change, extremist parties, coups, etc.

If the Tainos would have had access to the internet in their day, I wonder what they would have been saying.
What they might have been thinking.
For that matter any of the indigenous peoples of the new world, the Americas.
For those that are thinking that the government in the D.R. is being too cautious with COVID19, remember that there is history on the island of Hispaniola as it relates to disease imported from away...
Yes, the DR govt is being too cautious. They're pretending to be 1st world and European which they aren't.

Modern day Dominicans have no relations to those ancient indigenous peoples who inhabited the Antilles. They died with no immune capabilities to ward off European disease and filth. 16th century

Modern day Dominicans are a mixture of the African and European gene pools with ample defenses and immunity to ward off the most virulent of infections.

Thus, they need to open up the economy and country already without reserve, without caution and without preplanned regulated mediated programmed openings.
