I have been reading up on "inexpensive cosmetic surgery", and came across surgery in the DR. I originally thought it seemed like a good idea. Take a small vacation, and have some surgery done at the same time. Then I started reading other articles with negativity on the subject. It has been said that the facility as well as the physicians are not adequet to be performing the procedures, thus the procedures are less expensive. Well, as we like to say in Texas, "I want to hear it straight from the horses mouth". So I decided to go straight to the source. Anybody have any info. on this subject? Referrals?
Thank you so much for your time,
Tina :)

If you decided to come here to have some cosmetic surgery because it?s cheaper then also you may want to just purchase a one way ticket cus if you don?t make it out of the procedure you wouldn?t want to have wasted any money on the return ticket you won?t be needing anyways.

Surgery in DR

Well I have had surgery twice in DR at CECIP. Once by Dr. Ivanhoe Baez and once by Dr. Jean Paul Giudicelli. I had a tummy tuck 6 year ago by Dr. Baez and a breast left this year by Dr. Giudicelli. Both doctors did a wonderful job. Both doctors have operated on 16 of my friends during the last 6 years. This year alone I have visited DR 3 times. Four of my girlfriends have had tummy tucks and liposculpture by Dr. Giudicelli this year. All 4 are thrilled with their results.

I have had friends who have had botched boob job here in the US. And I spent $4500 have lipo on my arms only to have it redone correctly in DR. My dam tummy tuck didn't even cost me that much in DR. If you find a skilled surgeon and a clean facility such as CECIP having surgery in DR is safe.

Be sure to stay at a recovery house or comfortable hotel. Don't take jewelry or carry a purse. You are there to have surgery and leave. If you are not flashy you will not be targeted.

I stayed at the Melia or InterContinental Hotel in the Malecon. Only take Lino Taxi service. They are reputable and won't rip you off.

Hey India,

could you possibly pass on the pertinent info, like phone numbers and addresses for the doctors and the taxi service?

I have a friend who is interested in some cosmetic surgery in the DR and would like to get as much info for her as I can.

by the way, what is a recovery house? And how long did you have to stay in the DR for the tummy tuck?

avoid jn Paul Guidicelli

Dr Jean Paul guidicelli, gave me a botched tummy tuck, I wound up in a hospital in miami with a massive medical bills for $37.00, battling a massive infection it's turn out that Dr guidicelli left so much fluid on my belly they operate after that I had a big hole on left side since most doctors in the Us are not willing to work on another surgeon's mess I could not afford correctives surgeries in the US I went back to the Dominican republic to have him corrected his mess ,I wound up with my belly-button being closed by this dr.now I have to wait for 6 months to get my belly fix by a US surgeon's

not a good choice

I a tummytuck done by Dr Jean paul,Guidicelli, I wound up at Jackson memorial hospital they had to reopen my belly because the Dr left so much fluids inside after three weeks at Jackson I receive a bills for $37.000 dollars let's not talk about insurance because I went abroad I have to paye the bills myself.I went back to see him because at Jackson hospital they left a hole on my left side after taking out the fluids ,the second time instead of correcting his mess he just closed my belly-button, now i'm wainting to see a Dr in the US to fix the my belly button.
