So there is a proposed curfew: No more than one person aboard a moto after 11PM.
I think this is a good idea unless the moto and driver is a registered motoconcho wearing official gear.
But who would enforce it? Would it only be for the big cities ?
I doubt it sees the light of day

I don't see this happening unless someone important issues the directive. Isn't the stat that most robberies occur with 2 guys on a motor between 8pm-11pm? So this wouldn't help as much as it would if the time limit were set earlier, but also would stifle the economy and people's rights more if it were set at 8pm.

In general I am not for the stifling of rights or freedoms. Driving a motor with someone on the back is as normal as playing dominos. They should have the right to live freely, as people do within the culture and driving a motor is more "normal" even than driving a car. That said, I have heard many many stories of people being robbed and it's almost always by someone on a motor, or getting away on a motor and I can't help but admit that I am often quite alert and not at ease when walking alone in the dark. When I first got here I remember being with people who would perk up when they hear a motor approaching and I paid it NO mind at all. Now I am one of those who become immediately alerted when I hear a motor and put eyes on it to see how many people are on it. If it's a man and a woman I'm usually a little more relaxed, two guys and I'm preparing myself to run, fight or submit (if a gun or weapon is pulled).

Yep, just like the one I caught on my security cameras dropping off his buddy to break into the neighbor's car.

Then the 2 of them taking off on the moto when the car alarm went off.

TRUST NO ONE, official gear or not.

I never leave my neighborhood after 11pm so it doesn't affect me but I do think it will (if properly enforced) reduce thefts and robberies.

I can't see this hair brained scheme getting much traction. AMET only works till about 4 or 5 in the afternoon, and they being the only one that can enforce traffic laws, begs the question, who will enforce this dumb idea?

How much of the wad of money did you have to leave with the fine law abiding officers

I don't think AMET will be the department task with enforcing it. Repsonsibility will go to PN.

its a great idea. They should also prohibit a moto driver from carrying 2 propane tanks, a box of tools and a case of beer at the same time.

and you actually admit to driving through a red light with your sister on the bike as well ......thats a special type of stupid .......and then admit to pulling a wad of money out ....another smart move ...then again a wad to one person is not a wad to another
