Mcinbrass did you miss the fact that the OP will NOT have internet connection when arriving at Metro bus depot?
If you will not pay over 800 pesos for a taxi from Metro bus depot to SDQ airport mid-day on a Friday I sure hope you arrive very early as it will be one long, hot WALK to the airport. Drink plenty of water.
Most major carriers internet will work in DR now on a local network whether its Claro or Altice with speeds of 3G or 4G so using the UBER app should not be a problem

Actually all Carriers here has 3G and LTE, Claro, Altice and VIVA, so not a problem using Uber, but at that time better to have flat rate, you can be stuck in traffic, and usually at rush time in Santo Domingo using Uber you get the warning about the prices could be double. So Uber is not bet option in rush hours.
