Has Aduanas announced yet how much you are allowed to bring into DR as presents? I think last year they allowed up to US$ 4000 but I just want to check the exact amount as I have done a little shopping and don't want it to be removed from me when I arrive back.

Ah I've answered my own question. Only for Dominicans living abroad who have been abroad for more than 6 months, and it's US$ 4,000 of presents that can be brought in between December 1 and January 7.

Weren't non-Dominicans also allowed a certain amount? Maybe it changed?

I know when you fill out the e-ticket there is a notation that anyone is allowed to bring in $500 US worth of gifts if they haven't done so in the previous 3 months.
