Yes, good point, however I think Danilo is simply doing what every politician does, who is running for office, tell the people what they want to hear. The corruption that is common place with this current administration is not going to end any time soon, regardless of what is being said on the election trail. Well, the corruption will not cease or shrink by electing the PRD. I don't know what the answer is, but it isn't them.

CC, I have met some of these Dominican Saints, they do exist. After 3 years I have had the pleasure to meet about 4 of them. The other, not so saintish, you mention above, I have met hundreds of them!

I assumed you were talking about income tax. If you were in Boston you would be paying taxes- Federal, state, municipal, sales, ....etc, so cry me a river. We all pay taxes.

My "Income",is "Non-Taxable" in the USA.
"What a Country"!
And Bob,in the USA,Canada,Europe,you get something in return for those "taxes"!
Police/Fire protection,"Sanitation services",Public education,health care,potable water,electricity,gasoline at half DR prices,and most important,"Rule-Of-Law"!

AND,when I worked here,I paid,or better said,it was withdrawn,income tax on my income.
Then,in true "Dominican Style",I was given a "Transportation Allowance" to make up for the income tax!
