In a spirited and committed gathering, the official formation of David Collado’s presidential campaign command took place on Tuesday, 23 July 2024, in New York City, 7 Dias reports. The event took place at the renowned Jalao Restaurant located at 2420 Ave Amsterdam, New York.

Several other politicians are already preparing their campaigns for 2028, as reported in El Dia, after President Luis Abinader announced he would not be a candidate in 2028.

President Luis Abinader has announced he will not run for President again. The 2015 Constitution disenables him from running. The President has also said he will not use the ruling Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) majority in both houses of Congress to change the Constitution to legally enable him to seek a second reelection.

To add a new term for a President is the most common cause of the convening of the National Assembly to amend the...

Those look like the eyes of a person I would not trust with my money.

As he said in one of his prior political speeches "My opponent has been robbing you blind for years, all I ask you is for a chance."
But maybe it loses something in the translation ?

When I shook his hand at a tourism fair in Miami, I realized that EVEN supposedly good folks can see through my lack of gravitas and intelligence:

El Señor Ministro didn't utter a single word to me, and I can't blame him: the word 'loser' is tattooed in my ever-expanding Neanderthal-esque forehead.

The embarrassment made feel as if I was dying at the bottom of a pit in the blazing Sun, torn and twisted at the foot of a burning bike.

But I DID wear my one and only suit, expertly contrasted with matching shoes and fake leather satchel, ponytail bouncing with each measured step.

After several minutes, I bolted for the exit faster than a bat out of Hell.

Get used to them. He's going to be the next president.

I think that he has done more for tourism than any other previous tourism ministers in the recent past. What he will be like as president will be a completely different matter but he is respected within his party and is very popular with the heavy hitters within the tourism sector....yeah yeah, money talk bullshxt walks, as is very common here, but he is certainly a viable option.

Don't forget his time as Mayor.

After Abinader and Carolyn, he's the most recognized in the country.

If Abi does not change the Constitution 2028 is gonna be either Paliza or Carolina Mejía on one side vs Omar on the other.

Abel needs to switch to a different party.
He has nowhere to go; PRM is run by Hipo's people and they're probably gonna push the Godfather's daughter Carolina in 2028, FP is Leonel's and he's gonna push his son Omar. Abel is gonna linger around as the leader of PLD, still pretty sweet position with lots of perks.

Remember, Collado is pretty much the adopted son of Juan Vicini, one of the richest and most powerful men in the country. It was reputedly as a result of Vicini throwing money at his campaign that he became mayor in the first place, and he has been patiently waiting for his turn at president. I agree with JD, there is a very very strong chance he will be president.

He's obviously a good achiever as well. Under his leadership, tourism is booming and a hell of a lot of the corruption that was previously woven into the ministry of tourism has been undone.

I like Paliza, but I believe he's unable to run for the highest office because he holds dual citizenship.

And could you believe El Señor Ministro could see the Dumbminican-Yorkness through my ill-fitting, outdated, one-and-only suit?

And I made sure I sounded as neutral as possible, pronouncing well-placed 'Ss' and 'Rs', while saving my barrio talk for the month of August.

Had I anticipated his refusal to acknowledge me, I would've said this:

<<Dime a ve, SeñoL Mini'tro. Dímelo cantando. ¿Ké lo ke con ké lo ke? Dame lu>>.

Correct. And remember Carolina didn't even want to run for mayor again. They had to talk her into doing it. I'd bet she has no presidential aspirations.

While we're at it, what's a "Suit?"
