I passed this today and wonder who will fill this hotel up. Many other projects going up with-in blocks of this site. New hotel going up at Hemingway. New 20 story condo building now working on 10th floor. New lux airbnb just finished 1/2 block from Day Inn.

I guess one could walk to the beach but ...not comfortably. Many dicey small shacks tin roofs. I drove by bc I went for a coffee. I only know of this place bc that's where I get a car wash each week. Otherwise, I would not be in his area. It was dominated by Haitians up to the clamp downs.Not dangerous, but not for NA tourist. In addition the link says they will be selling day passes for gym and pool. Not cool. That system is trouble with a capital T.

It's very close to the school that teaches classes in english (1-8 grade?).
There are several projects going on there but I think it's still a crap shoot.

Yea it does. So 1.7 km from the beach. I would think that would be an upside due to noise considerations.

If it still has the DR1 copyright, then they aren’t using it as their own. They recognize the map belongs to DR1. Whether they contacted DR1 for permission to use the map is something else.
