No. But dentists are cheap.
In La Vega in the ninetees there were :” más dentistas que bocas”.

What does she need Unit5?

Salud Pública does have dentists that provide care. Can you find the Centro Sanitario for the province and go there?

If you're unemployed, I thought you qualified for the Senasa medical insurance don't you? Which gives you a plan basica. Isn't there some dentistry included in that? As others have commented, dentistry is relatively cheap here in any case.

Dominican citizens (not legal residents) qualify for basic SENASA. From what I can see, dental plans are optional.

For my information...does "local" mean a resident by law in the DR?
With regards to coverage through SENASA, LOCAL means a DR CITIZEN (not legal residents).

You can always get a local paid insurance plan with dental coverage, despite not having a job.
I don't know of any free dental clinics other than the occasional visits that used to happen at the Monkey Jungle, so others would have to advise on them.

Hi Fulano2 - not sure yet. My GF has yet to visit a dentist. She lives in POP.
The Centro Sanitario in POP is behind the fire station just off the Malecon. I don't know if they have dentists. There is also a dental clinic named Sonrisa that I think is geared toward low income, but I may be wrong about that.

Hi Jan - where is this place - which province?
Like Windguy said. I have used it before for fillings and also for an allergic reaction I had once. They are very good there. They have all types of doctor services. Free, even for me a permanent resident. But, it is first come first serve. I walked my dogs past there this morning at 6AM and there were already a few people waiting outside of the gate.

This is the place I mentioned in my earlier post. They do have dentists there, but not necessarily every day.

The OP is asking for information about low cost/no cost dental assistance. Any other comments are unnecessary, so stop.

If the OP is asking for advice/information on dental assistance, then that is what the posts should/need to be about. The OP did not ask for advice on whether he should pay for the dental work, her intentions, etc.. Some of you thrive on making more out of something than it is. It is about being respectful to the OP and their question.
