Is topless sunbathing a common occurrence in Cabarete? From the tone of this article, I'm guessing not so much. I might like to spend a couple days lying in the sun tanning my boobs
, but I'm not gonna do it if that's not really kosher. I've been wondering about this for a while. I know my friend went to Punta Cana and said there was a lot of topless bathing there so she felt comfortable doing it, but it seems that Cabarete and Punta Cana couldn't be more different, from what I hear. Thoughts?
Also, no one should EVER wear stilettos to the beach. That's skanky AND impractical! And this is coming from someone who does own a lot of high heels! There's a time and place ladies. Here in the US, chicks who wear NOTHING but heels are called strippers

Let those puppies free... and wearing stiletto heels is just fine, especially with a mini skirt and halter top after midnight in the bars. As for walking in the sand with them, one just needs to shift their weight on to their toes - check with JRHartley for the definitive technique.
In all seriousness, topless sunbathing has been common here for at least the last 10 years. It's mostly Europeans. I've yet to see a Dominican girl sunbathing topless on the beach here.

Well obviously heels are ok at the bar! I just dont really think they're appropriate beach attire during the day....especially with a swimsuit!
A nice sarong, bikini top and heels works, some can get away with it, and some can't. Wear what you are comfortable with and don't worry what others are/aren't.

It's not about Stilettos.....It's about marketing, and promotion.

No one is comfortable in stilettos at the beach! They sink in the sand and they are impractical. I don't care what other people wear was just commenting on what another poster said.

There is a very nice nudist colony just past Rio San Juan.... affordable with a good beach.
I'm not sure about their shoe policies on the beach.... but anything else goes - or is that nothing else goes- or here goes nothing????

Its a nice place.... they still serve Harvey Wallbangers - or is it Wally Ballhangers...... who cares ? Mas Galliano!!

..........about topless beaches I believe its only appropriate at the All Inclusive hotels...........IMO
I wonder really if the sand is any harder to navigate in them than the streets of SD?
