Detours in effect as overpass construction begins at 27 de Febrero and Isabel Aguiar intersection

Those who can would do well to avoid using the 27 de Febrero and Isabel Aguiar intersection that connects to the Duarte Highway (in north direction) and west to the San Cristobal’s 6 de Noviembre Highway.

Starting Monday, 12 August 2024, motorists will encounter detours at the intersection of 27 de Febrero and Isabel Aguiar avenues due to the construction of a new overpass. The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) explains in a press release the works seek to improve traffic flow and reduce commute times.

The National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (Intrant) announced that left turns will be prohibited at the intersection, commonly known as “Pintura,” as construction commences.

It has always been chaotic there, like driving straight into a market through a bottleneck. It will be a mess until the overpass is ready.

Right? Unfortunately, once it's done it will just move the traffic jam a mile west. they need to elevate a few intersections on the way, I'm afraid.
