Digesett recognizes agent for aiding dog in times of Franklin

A dog-loving Traffic Safety and Land Transport (Digesett) traffic agent was recorded when he rescued a street dog stuck in flooding rains and carried him across an avenue to a less trafficked street. The video went viral.

The Digesett announced that on Wednesday, 30 August 2023 the Animal Protection Brigade (BPA), recognized the agent for his gesture.

Sergeant Carlos Miguel Taveras Mejía became a hero. The video of him carrying and taking a dog to a safe place was a trending topic on social networks, the Digesett press release explains.

Digesett director, General Ramón Antonio Guzmán Peralta and the Animal Protection Brigade delivered a recognition scroll to Taveras Mejía. The traffic policeman was admitted as an honorary member of the animal protection organization.

Our Dog run away and it was picked up by a Police Patrol. It's a very expensive breed and they could have sold her easily for 20,000 RD$ at the next Pet Store.
The feed her and brought her to an Animal Shelter that published her images on instagram, Facebook etc. So we got her back the very next Day.
Until today i can hardly believe this myself.

A Digesett man helped me get a.dog.out of the middle.of Av. Espana during rush hour. He stopped traffic, held my 2 dogs while I chased and caught the Chihuahua. The little dog was shaken and had a little blood on her.nose but after a rest a neighbor took her home. The man got no recognition as we were busy catching the dog and watching out for my dogs and all our safety and we did not record. There are many good humans in this world.
