DNCD arrests person for network sought to smuggle 50 kilos of cocaine from Punta Cana to Brussels

The National Drug Control Agency (DNCD) announced the arrest of a person accused of ties to a drug trafficking network and violation of Drugs and Controlled Substances Law 50-88.

National Drug Control Agency (DNCD) agents and members of the Public Prosecutor’s Office arrested Sauri Martinez Castro linked to the seizure of 50 packages of cocaine at the Punta Cana International Airport. An arrest warrant had been issued by a Punta Cana area judge.

According to the investigation carried out by the DNCD, Martinez Castro would be part of the network that tried to send from Punta Cana International to Brussels.

The DNCD says three other persons were arrested as the investigation continues.
