Not to put too fine a point on it, but homosexuality is outlawed in many more countries... that doesn't make the legislation right..

As to ear-cropping it is done in fighting breeds to prevent ear-tearing in fighting other dogs, same with tail-docking

Bc banning ear cropping and homosexuality are so similar? How on earth can they even be compared, homos are not hurting anyone!
That makes me feel so much better that it is done for dog fighting, so much more humane.

Sorry Merengue ear cropping was originally an ancient practice that was once done for perceived health, practical or cosmetic reasons, not for the barbaric game of dog fighting. Tail docking came into play with hunting dogs, so their tails wouldn't become damaged in the underbrush. It's also done typically with herding breeds. Many folks that choose cropping and docking are also doing so for breed standards such as showing but the AKC is now beginning to accept natural ears and tails.
