An amazing opportunity for those people fostering dogs. Bring some much needed dollars into the organisation. I'll be in the Cabarate area for 4 months Jan-April 2016 and need a place willing to take my dog overnight and transport him to me daily. I'm willing to pay $300Cdn.

Is this correct? You need someone to have your dog every night for 4 months and bring them to you each morning for less than $250 US which works out to about $2 US per day? Where is the amazing opportunity in this?

Oh wow 300 CDN dont break the bank !!!! For once I agree with Cdn Gringo not going to happen the fuel cost alone for 1 month will be about 300CDN !!! Once again people who know nothing thinking the DR is cheap and 300 CDN is not a lot of money especially for 4 months. Bien n Tacano is the answer you will get from Domincans or Extranjeros for your request !

Just for a bit of perspective:

$5 USD/night, you supply the food, the transportation and cover all medical bills (fleas, ticks, worms, heartworm). This will get your dog a nice cool place to lay his/her head, in the company of two other well socialized dogs in a large fenced yard within a relatively secure gated community. I will assume no responsibility for injury or death, however, caused (spiders, scaleopendra, cane toads, eating things it shouldn't etc.)

No one is going to provide a daily drop off/pick service. Boarding at a kennel will be at least 2 - 3 times the above price per night.

I'll pick up the "land mines" at no extra charge.

i don't understand the request here. OP needs someone to stay with her dog for the night and then bring it to her for the day? why? the place does not take dogs? find another place. you work nights? deliver and pick up the dog yourself, before and after work. or is there other problem?

Wow 2 times I agree with CdN gringo !! I actually think the whole I am willing to pay 300 CDN for 4 months is insulting. Pick up and delivery included. The cost of fuel is going up again today the DR is cheap but not that cheap and getting more exspensive every week. No offense to the OP why don't you keep your dog with you full time ? Also think about how much a service like this would cost in Canada ?

as far as regular pet lodging goes, i had our cat stay at dr bob's for two weeks because she is sick and needs proper care in our absence. we paid 300 pesos a day, i believe.

but this was a professional care with a vet on site. 300 canadian dollars would be a lot for a poor dominican family. there are plenty of people in this country who work full time jobs for less money. although i would not trust them with my dog. so spare the OP you-so-cheap talk. i would like to know more about the situation so maybe we can help to come up with the solution that will allow OP to stay with the dog.

Also, paying anyone in Canadian dollars is a bad idea, no matter what the amount. The are not as easy to use or exchange. And they have a horrible exchange rate. For example, $1 USD may have an exchange rate of $1.21 CAN (and I think the Euro is at $1.12 today)... But, while the US dollar is getting around 44.7 pesos, the Euro is getting around 50 pesos, the Canadian dollar is only getting getting 36 pesos (according to xe.com)....

My point is that people who don't visit here or live here believe it's cheap and say things like Amazing opportunity to earn 300 CDN not even US!! For 4 months of of work 7 days a week ??? Including pick up and delivery !! Thats just plain ludicrous and ridiculous. To the OP honestly if your dog can not spend the night with you its better to find another place to stay and use the 300 CDN towards that.
