And we sell a lot of tobacco to Nicaragua and Honduras. I enjoy cigars from Central America (Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Honduras) they have a distinct flavor, and are generally well made. Dominican cigars run the gamut. You can find truly memorable, outstanding, awesome cigars and you might find the odd "dog rocket" every now and then.

Cigars are like women, there is a nearly infinate variety. However, cigars are less complicated.HB

Thank goodness we don't have to choose between them...

As an attraction: "B"
As a roller? "F"

Overall: "D" ...

Too much ghar gum, too slow, poor technique overall. Poor cap.

None of which has a d@mn thing to do with the cigar itself, which might be excellent.

There are probably a few "other" tasks that her hands seem capable of doing quite well. Ahem!!

I like specialty blends. And these are my absolute favorite.

These are made with both Dominican and Nicaraguan tobacco. The dominican leaf is towards the front. So the cigar starts off as a medium smoke, and then becomes more full flavored as you get into the Nicaraguan ligero towards the back end. A really good, and fragrant smoke.:glasses:

You know, I think I'm gonna head to Jr's on my way home.;)

Plieades!!! Oh man!!!...They used to be made by Matasa here in Santiago, but now they are made by Tabacalera Garcia in La Romana. I love them and espcially the maduros. I stillhave four from the Matasa againg room over 12 years old...they are so good I have to use an old doobie clip to smoke them!!

How much are the maduros Vince??? JR must have a great price for them on line..

as a newcomer to the cigar game i'm not to knowledgeable in the field. however, while in the dr i did encounter quite a few different types of cigar.

there is no shortage of bad cigars in the dr. i've been to many a colmado and asked for a cigar for a fair price and tried to take a pull while i get nothing. this is what should be eliminated. how do they even make money on these types of cigars? no sirve.

anyways, i have also come across quite a few good cigars. a friend of mine gave me one of the best cigars i've ever had and it was potent as they come, but smooth. almost as long as your arm you could smoke that thing for an hour and a half!!!

there is also one type of cigar that i just can't seem to find much. only 5 pesos in any colmado but most colmados don't have them. take 2 puffs and it'll almost knock you on your a$$!! gives me quite a tingly sensation that other cigars just can't seem to replicate, and like i said, only 5 pesos.

don't forget dominicanitos! cheaper than cigarillos and dura mas tiempo.

V de la Victoria. These are called "perritos" and they are by far the cheapest you can find. Let me know where you are and I will find some for you...

Depends upon which size you like to smoke. I smoke either the Envoy 6.00x54, or the Degaulle 5.00x52. Jr's has them for $119.00 and $109.00 respectively. My favorite is the Degaulle because I really like the 5.00x52 size cigars. Just enough of a smoke to get the job done.

Good thing about Jr's is that the online price is also what you'll pay in their stores. And I've purchased more than a few boxes of Pleiades as gifts for fellow smokers.

I'm usually in Santiago at least twice a year. I'd be happy to bring you a box of Pleiades maduros the next time I'm headed down there.
