The link at the start of the thread contains a couple of recipes for eggnog.Seeing as the weather will be crappy for at least 2 more days, tomorrow will be Christmas tree day. I will make my own eggnog as a tree can not go up without some nog. The stuff they sell here in the Tetra pack is horrible at best so I will research goggle to see what I can make with my limited supplies. If it's any good I will pass on the recipe.

This will be my 14th Christmas in the DR. I have sampled all the foods you have shown several times. I was just making a comment on how good they looked. Nothing more.
Some of the dishes we have tried have been fantastic. Some not my cup of tea but overall the food and drink here are very good.

Gandules is not wrong, it's what they're called in Puerto Rico. Some brands of tinned pigeon peas sold in the DR are labelled gandules. Here are some more names/spelling variations across the Caribbean, Latin America, Asia, and Africa.or guandules
