DR in Final 15 Miss Universe

I think Miss Dominican Republic is beautiful and handled herself very well. Think about it, she was competitive up to the last minute and had a real chance of winning. I agree that maybe the fact that she answered the question in Spanish may have influenced the judges. Anyway, finishing #3 out of 80 other beautiful ladies is an impressive accomplishment. Congratulation!

I feel that her decision to answer in Spanish was a good one. She probably didn't want to be stuck with her limited English and sound stupid. I heard her on interviews in English and her English is not bad, but under that pressure she probably wouldn't be able to find the right words. I agree that she did a wonderful job up there and is all to her credit since she wasn't the prettiest one, but she had poise and personality to give away!!!

The infamous dress worked very well to her advantage!!!

I agree that her decision to answer in Spanish was a good one. She sounded intelligent and very personable when speaking Spanish. I did not like the dress but it scored high in the evening gown competition so obviously the judges liked it.

Colombia was my favorite, she looked very natural. DR is very pretty, but I think her hair and the dress didn't do her any justice.

Between Colombia and Venezuela, I wanted Colombia to win. She was much prettier. But it obviously is more than just being pretty.

hey, there's always next year and Miss DR's life has changed forever. maybe movies or fashion is in her future...

now if i can only take a vacation to Caracas :laugh:
