Are you aware if the DR has a social assistance program?

They offer some for Dominicans only but it's very limited.

The DR government offers many more assistance program targeted mostly to the poor, not just the tarjeta Solidaridad. From bonuses of electricity, gas, a governmrnt bonus for the purchase of your first home (real estate companies targetting the lower middle class and other low income people include this in their advertising and you will see in the various projects if it qualifies for the government bonus, for example Bisonó projects tend to do this a lot), etc. These programs aren't automatic, you have to apply for them. The government bonuses essentially are subsidies where the government pays part of the cost of whatever it is.

Many of these assistance programs do have a household income limit and above that a household doesn't qualify.
