DR1 Skype users

You are only using bandwidth between yourself and whoever you are calling. talking with voice over internet protocol or even when you are text messaging the same as in Yahoo Messenger or MSN Messenger.

You use bandwidth when you acess any internet site, so with these you are actually creating a link to others through their servers, no different that peer to peer file sharing. The only protocols that are routed through your computer are your own calls and messaging.

Dialup will work but is breaks up and is slow as molasses running this time of year in Canada.

MommC please send me an email, you have my address, I have a question for you when you return to JD.

voipbuster uses skype to make calls, so how could the quality be any worse? When you dial in voipbuster, you are actually using skype.
Now here is a better program. www.voipstunt.com
its a brother of voipbuster and still powered by skype. calls to uk, canada and usa are free along with 20 other countries. try it for free for a few minutes.

Only if you have high speed

is the fact that skype uses your processor and bandwidth to 'facilitate' communication between skype users a concern????
Should it be????
I don't like the thought of anyone accessing my processor and I don't have much bandwidth on dial-up!

The bandwidth share is mostly for those with high speed connections. It doesn't degrade the performance at all. At least I haven't had any problem with it.
