I haven't heard that....
My wife would come back if she could

terrified of overstaying her USA welcome/ visit time
I think its worth while looking into and getting it confirmed. Of course maybe the quarantine is at that government hotel mentioned which may be uncomfortable. But a legal resident should be able to enter equally as a citizen as its your home. I am not being naive I think talking about rights for a legal resident. Besides it is also just good business for the DR.

John, not to be rude, but you've posted on this a few times. I really don't know to which rights you are referring. Even in "normal" times

But we don’t really know. There was the one incident in Punta Cana which I believe was on the 19th of March. I myself travelled in as a legal resident the 18th of March the day before the start of the Nacional Emergency.

The bottom line is, until everything is open and swinging 100%. Only Dominican citizens should contemplate entry. Why? Because getting sent home upon arrival sucks

Sent back you mean. If you are a legal resident the DR is your home.

Easy boys....

no proof of residents admission yet....

John snuck in under the wire.... the 18th
my wife snuck out.... the last Saturday....

I'll go by the March 19 incident unless it's retracted

JB
Some (maybe many) have residency for long term stays - not to actually 'reside'

Yes... I reside here..... no other resident country
2 citizenships....one residency

Well you don't want to get sent back to where you came from then. How's that.
Assuming still we cannot enter as legal residents in my case it would have gotten complicated as I on the 18th of March flew from Miami where I was visiting. So I don’t think I could have flown back to Miami to stay. I would then have had to fly back to Denmark my country of origin and where I am a citizen. Glad I am here though. I am used to the Dominican food now.

Funny, I'd rather be in Denmark if I could swing it.

By DR law, a legal resident has the same legal rights as a DR Citizen except for the right to vote in elections and hold political office.

If DR citizens are allowed to enter, DR legal residents should also be allowed to enter. Of course, laws and the proper execution of laws are two different things in the DR.

Do we have any reports of legal residents that have been repatriated to the DR during the State of Emergency?

Mr. John, it is now 9 June. Put the events of and since March behind you. Time to look forward.
