With the experience of Hurricane Fiona fresh in the mind, Dominicans are closely following the development of a tropical depression as it moves across the Atlantic Ocean. Tropical Depression Nine is expected to become Tropical Storm Hermine. The storm is moving at 25 km/h and is on a track to pass south of St. Lucia.

Metereologist Jean Suriel tweets the storm could be south of the Dominican Republic by this coming Friday or Saturday.
