Ex "expat" signs up....

Hola everybody....As the title mentions, I am an ex "expat" who found themself wandering around some of the threads here today....The new highway del este (coral ), the whiners and complainers and the bisteq and fried onions.. ( I'm a sucker for anything recipe related.) I have to say I had a few good laughs and overall consider the time invested as "well wasted".
My time in the D.R. was mainly in the East...PUJ, Bavaro. Let me tell you that those stories and pictures of the new highway had me salivating. They have been working for sooooo long on the darn thing, all I can say is Hallelujah !!!
So, anyway, that's my intro. Thanks in advance for the welcome.

Good afternoon Chirimoya............No, I don't think so. I think I really outstayed my time and was really, really ready to head back home. Since being back, I must admit, there have been only a very few moments that I felt serious pangs. I never thought I'd see the day but then, there you go.
I noticed a thread on expats leaving the D.R........Maybe I'll go over and check it out.
