I like the part where they say ---

Set apart from the crowded tourist locales..

Certainly, the north coast is as undeveloped as you'll find in the Caribbean....and close to an airport.
THink about the expanses east of Cabarete... past Gaspar Hernandez....past RSJ and Cabrera.....after Nagua
Somebody go out there and pace it off.... I'd like to know the length of that empty coastline

Yes, In a woodsy area near a bunch of shacks all selling the same stuff, overlooking a nice bay.

My other guestimate would be just outside of Puerto Plata. Plenty of room either side of Playa Dorada. Decent infrastructure, traffic patterns good, stores, and close to airport, close to marina, restaurants, etc.

NOPE

The former Ganesvoort property will be converted in the next few months.

And if all goes as planned, ALL THREE projects in the municipality of Sosua.

So, the old Ganesvoort property is one, a second is where Azurro was in Cabarete and the third?

I did a check on room rates at a W Hotel, one in Costa Rica. From the $500 to $1,500 US . That is per night. Marketed to the 2%'er young and rich. Interesting. That makes Ultraviolet look cheap.

The Ritz Carlton going in "east of Cabarete"? Any idea where? Is that where DR Solar sold some land to them?

I also heard that some property on the north side of the highway in Cabarete, across from Costa Azul, will have a "boutique hotel" going in. Any connection to this trio of hotels?

In total---- this is good news for the north coast in general.

You Sos/Cab people haven't had what we've had in the RSJ/Cabrera area...
lots of high end activity....
Employment is waaay up

For sure the reputation and visibility of the north coast is up for a change

How are the client levels at the expensive hotels out your way?

Well....
The Amanera was the most successful opening the Aman chain has ever had
Occupancy remains up - not during Sept/Oct...they shut
but the rest of the time... very good.
Witness the visit by Ivanka Trump and her husband... we have helicopters swooshing by regularly
Private aircraft are allowed at AZS

I can't speak to the RSJ peoperty... high end too.

The adjacent development to the Aman Hotel is Playa Grande golf course
Selling houses on the golf course and on the hillside behind.
That too is progressing.... well , I hear

All in all... progress.

10 yrs ago, I was looking here...Cabrera
I was told Aman was buying.....at Playa Grande.... and that has proven to be correct.
I bought on that news - within 30 days of them buying - and have been waiting for some results.

I hope we are at that point now.... 10-11 yrs later !!

I really think the north coast, especially east of Cabarete, has a chance of becoming the "Caribbean Riviera".

you're not the first say that..

When Michael Douglas was here, he said he wanted 4 acres....up on the hillside

I guess so....he comes from Beverly Hills !!!

Already some pretty splashy people... visit or live here ...
present company excluded

They bought my 2 lots. Second row back from the beach with no ocean access and due to private ocean front properties will not allow access and no ocean entrée due to it being aricife cliffs. They paid 5 x's my asking price.

800 miles of total coast line....it has to be 150 miles at least. Cabrera to Luperon is 157 miles.

Punta Cana has to have over 10,000 hotel rooms.

How many hotel rooms from PP to Cabrera? It has to be well less than half and no real concentration or density.

The Pristine NC is a potential Caribbean Riviera. It's like the North coast of Cuba. It is "ripe for the pickens."

These hotel deals, if they happen, will be great for everybody.

Great for everyone if your concept of great is duplicating Punta Cana/Bavaro, perhaps.

Me, I’m ok with how the north coast is now. Although I liked it 20 years ago as much or more.

I’m ok with unique/quirky accommodations, non-chain restaurants, uncongested 2 lane roads vs 4 lane highways, a sense of community, and uncrowded beaches...

Recently Lifestyles has installed a huge tv screen on their building blazing their self-promotion 24/7 in Cabarete to anyone passing on the street. It’s more appropriate for Times Square or the Las Vegas strip than Cabarete. Things like that blatant commercialism lessens the attractiveness of the north coast. They’re not focused on the beauty of the north coast and what’s good for it, just a focus on their smoke and mirrors marketing.

I understand CFA...

I live near a high end development.....
The only impact we have seen is the positive employment effect on the locals.

Unlike LifeStyles... ,which does not really qualify in terms of quality in comparison to names being touted here -
we see no flash & cash on the streets a la Las Vegas
Helicopters = yes

very well said. as long as the assets are taken over ny major commerical players, everything will look like everything else, and tourists will not remember whether they just came back from the DR or Aruba.

There is absolutely no way they'll be able to duplicate Punta Cana on the north coast. There are almost no large contiguous parcels of land like there was in PC, they are scattered at best, and all the land in PC is controlled by the Punta Cana Corporation which made it possible to be developed the way it was.

That sign on Lifestyles is horrendous and doesn't fit in with the laid back tropical beach atmosphere of Cabarete. Hopefully, somebody will take a pot shot at it and they'll get the message and take it down.

Agree, the pristine, untouched North Coast has incredibly better opportunity then Punta Cana.

Master planning will not happen. It is perfect for one off exclusive enclaves.

Think very high end, exclusive. Not all inclusive slop houses.
