Pfizer vaccines are finally available in the Dominican Republic. Jabs can be had in Santo Domingo and Santiago. A batch of 228,150 doses of Pfizer Covid-19 vaccines arrived to Las Americas International Airport on Friday, 11 June 2021. Vice President Raquel Peña, Administrative Minister of the Presidency Jose Ignacio Paliza and Superintendent of Health and Labor Risks, Jesus Feris Iglesias were at the airport to receive the shipment that arrived on a DHL flight. Also present was US Embassy charge d’affaires, Robert Thomas, and the US counselor for public affairs, Alexander Titolo.
Vice President Raquel Peña, the Abinader administration Health Cabinet coordinator, announced on Friday that the first doses of the vaccine would be available on Saturday, 12 June and Sunday, 13 June at major inoculation sites in Santo Domingo and Santiago, the country’s two main cities.
