Happens all the time. At one restaurant I cooked at, we'd often find them in swordfish in the meat. There are buggies inside of you too.. Just be glad there are no Bot Flies in the DR.

Dom, first of all, why in God's name would you eat a nasty azzed bonita aka bonehead to begin with? altho, I know some some island folks do, in fact partake. The only use we have for them in this part of the world is as bait. Secondly, if you are that hard up, the wormies won't hurt you at all, but as stated in earlier posts, the thing that will put you down long and hard is that siquatera. and, with that, its a crapshoot. Having said that, I must admit to have eaten a wormy AJ, or speckled trout at some point.

its a real downer, specially as a fisherman, i will be inspecting the next one inch by inch.

so much to fresh caught fish.....this was right in front of puerto plata, about 1 1/2 mile out.
