free whatsapp calling

i don't like whatsapp at all. i use it to chat with few people only. i hate how it synchs my contacts and how intrusive it is. just like FB, really, which is why i got rid of the account and gave up a job that made me open one again. closing it second time in a month was a bliss. evil crap.

Google is just as bad. I have an Android phone floating around the DR somewhere that I gave away. Google thinks I still own it, even though I thought I wiped the phone before I gave it away. I get emails on my gmail account : ( that say based on my phone, they think I will like some damn video on Youtube. Talk about intrusive. Google owns Youtube also.

i hate gmail with all my heart. i had to open the account, of course, since i have smart phone. i despise it as much as excel and habichuelas con dulce. another useless piece of sh*t that intrudes my privacy. gosh, i could talk all my life about things i hate and i would never run out of subjects.

don't believe this is available for windows phones yet, downloaded whatsapp yesterday trying to get the calling feature, but no go. also can't find anything yet on the internet for windows phones.

Do you make a commission per call and new account opened or you just have a lot of free time?

I've had Whatsapp on my iPhone for years - for free voice calls to/from DR I've used Viber for a long time.

i may be in minority of people who do not appreciate phones in general. i don't pick up calls from unknown numbers, i delete my VM without listening, i don't call back. i much prefer chatting and/or emails but mostly i feel the phones should be used for emergencies and not for useless chattering.

I am your total opposite - my iPhone is always with me, especially when I'm in the US. Here in DR we don't have wifi, so I use it less - I use the same phone for both countries. In US, sometimes I don't even bother using the computer or iPad, phone has everything. In fact, when I spent the 2 months in hospital & rehab after the knee surgeries I only used my phone for internet the whole time. Didn't bother even with the iPad there, even though the entire facility had wifi.

Our Sky TV contract is ending in June, thinking of picking up one of the Triple Play packages available, want the wifi. Sick of the Claro stick.

i don't make a commission on this at all. just trying to see if anyone wants it for free. trying to give a little information to this
forum, cause i have gotten a lot from reading DR1.

i have heard that the server is close. they have it open for a few days then close it for a week or more.

if the mods would like to close this it's fine.

skype, viber, do the same thing

they are not as trendy right now but do everything whatsapp does without limiting you to one device or platform

vi6six I for one appreciate you passing along the information and willing to help activate it.

I may be wrong but I believe the MOD who closed this thread for a couple of days did NOT realize that WhatsApp is definetly DR related.

My WhatsApp account was opened using a USA phone number. If I upgrade you would then have to call my USA phone number to activate and I would receive the call here in the DR with no charge to you or me? Or are the phone calls made from within the WhatsApp app?

bigbird, yes you would need someone to activate it. yes there is no charge to no one with that upgrade. the server is down
for now. might be a week or so for it to come back on for free. once i find out i will let you know.

the calls are made with internet connection, so all calls made via whatsapp in your contact list are free. i have activated people
from canada, DR and Europe. all calls where free.
