David Collado, the tourism minister-designate for the Abinader administration that starts on 16 August, traveled to Spain to meet with top executives of the leading Spanish hotel chains. N Digital reports on one meeting at Grupo Meliá with Gabriel Escarrer. As reported, President-elect Luis Abinader joined via Internet.

As reported, the meeting focused on developing a public-private joint work plan to help the Dominican tourism industry recover in the short-, medium- and long-term following the highest international health and security standards.

“For the Dominican Republic your investment is very important. I am here to tell you that the Ministry and the Tourism Cabinet will be taking all measures so that our country is a safe tourism destination and to strengthen the tourism sector,” reportedly Collado told Escarrer.
