yes, the re-used bottles often have slightly different texture, you can see they have been "rubbed" into each other, the crates and so on. but all companies that recycle bottles have very strict quality control and will not take a bottle with visible damage to the neck.

presidente has the larges number of used bottles in circulation, maybe 80% of all their stock. coca-cola and pepsi as well, huge quantities.

A couple of years ago, the garbage collection supervisor cam e to my house with a bill for over 30,000 pesos.
He said I must "Pay Up", or they would no longer collect my trash!
I "LOL"ed in his face.
Told him "OK"!
Since they never collected my trash in the last 13 years anyway.
He left, and I threw the bill in the street.
2020, you just reminded me of another reason, other than "Chicas", that I love the DR.
You can just throw your trash where ever yo want!
Out the car window is my preferred method!
Since I live at the top of a hill, everything just washes away, and no "Garbage Bill"!
Ther is a small canal at the foot of my hill, in front of the zoo.
Everything used to collect in a screen to protect the canal.
After a heavy rain, they would collect everything, and hall it away.
That meant a "Four Letter Word" to the Dominicans, "WORK"!
Soooooooooo they removed the screen.
Now everything washes into the canal, even a small child every once-in-a-while, then into the "Obama River", then the ocean.
If you can't see it, who cares anyway??????
SEE, after 27 years, even I can rationalize like a "Dominicano"!

If "Senor PEE" can get the "METRO" extended to Santiago, the people there can ride "UNDER" all the "BASURA" that is contaminating the city!
They get off at a "Mall", where they can't afford to buy anything, and then ride back to their "Barrio".
Sounds like a "WIN/WIN" situation to me.
"WIN/WIN" for the "POLITCOS" that is!
