Yes, that's why I'm venting here... waiting for an important piece of work to arrive and having to get the client to use a back-up address, which may stop working at any moment. It's blocking almost everything you can think of - news sites, social networking sites, educational institutions, movie sites, software sites, webmail, search engines... actually I'm going to PM you and ask you to test my back-up e-mail address.

Are you running 10.4.11? There is a looping bug bug that is to do with security update 2008-006. It came out yesterday. This creates the "your network settings have been changed by another application message. Can you get rid of it?

This is happening again - anyone know how do I get rid of a security update?
