I am looking to furnish an apartment located in the Capital and I'm thinking of buying from NYC and shipping new items: refrigerator, stove, TV, washer, sofa, 3 queen size beds, dinning set, microwave, etc.

What's your opinion of going this route opposed to buying down in Santo Domingo?  Does Awilda shipping provide door-to-door pick/drop off service?

Fridge last month.

Look them up and call them.
A girl named Joselin is there for the summer...perfect English

I don't have shopping experience in the Dominican Republic, I can search for good deals here and so reasoning behind doing it this way.

 I'm assumiting/estimating that  I would save -even with shipping fee factored in - and overall it's a best in terms of value. 

What's a ballpark figure on the shipping fee for these large items in your opinion, 1k, 2k total?
