Getting to Las Galeras

We get a boat at the beach at Las Galeras to take us to Playa Rincon. A short boat ride. Then they will come and pick you up. Pay when they take you back to Las Galeras beach. I think that this is the easiest way to get there and the boat ride is nice too. Every time we have been at Playa Rincon the boat taxis are coming and going regularly. But arrange the return trip with the person who takes you there.

Just be sure you negotiate the price properly on them boat rides ,.. those guys are hustlers .and will even try to change the price if they dont pack enough people on the boat, like that is somehow your fault .They wont leave you stranded but they WILL try to renegotiate..
Dont be soft with them dudes .. one guy even needed us to front him money so he could go buy gas .

Never had a problem with the boat rides. We always just had them bring us (3or4). And come back for only us. They were always early to be sure they got paid. Then they can wait. But have only done this 5 or 6 times over the last 10 years. Never give the fare until you are on the way back, whatever they say. Make that clear before you start out. Any discomfort choose another guy.
