Ginger in Dominican Dishes?

Here's a recipe of mine(for all you bakers out there.) :) Soft Lemon-Ginger Cookies

1/2 cup butter,softened

1 cup packed light brown sugar

1 egg

3 tablespoons sour cream

1 tablespoon grated lemon peel(for those who live in the DR,limon verde since yellow lemons are hard to find)

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger

1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon cream of tartar

1/4 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

In a large bowl,cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.Beat in the egg,sour cream,
lemon peel,vanilla and grated ginger.

Combine the flour,baking soda,cream of tartar and salt;gradually add to creamed mixture and mix
well.

Drop by rounded teaspoons for small cookies or rounded tablespoons for big cookies.Place in an
ungreased cookie sheet.Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.Removed immediately
from baking sheet.

Good with a cup of tea or a glass of cold milk.Enjoy!:)
