This is in Santo Domingo (4 hours away from Sosua) but I am sure some of the members in Sosua could help you find a place where they could really use your donation.

It was a success! The girls loved their new pillows! Thanks to all who contributed the girls will sleep with a bigger smile on their face tonight. Also thank you mountainannie for the extra Christmas decoration, they were a big hit!

Just a quick update! The girls are doing great; growing up way too fast and loving their new house built for them by the embassy of Japan. They still send their gratitude to Beyond the Beach Foundation for their bunk beds, and now thanks to the Christmas spirit from coworkers the girls each received a pair of new shoes. Merry Christmas to all!

With the desire to bring some funds to the girls for Christmas we decided to have them paint some Christmas cards. We had a fun afternoon painting and here are the results. The cards will be sold and the funds will go directly to the girls. The cards will also serve as a way to let people know more about the Fundation Madelaes. Many thanks to Lalouve for her generosity, with her donation we were able to print 500 cards with their envelopes and have enough money left to buy pillows for the new 5 girls. It’s starting to smell a lot like Christmas!!!

The girls and the cards are beautiful. Wish I could buy some from here.

Our trip to SD is delayed because of my surgery next month, but we will probably be there in February. I've already sent down a bunch of items for the girls in the boxes we shipped, we'll get together and maybe go there together to give it to them?? Too late for Christmas, maybe for Easter??
