I watched the girls on TV last night. Some I couldn't relate to the photos on the website. Amazing what an airbrush can do!

I'm not sure what criteria they use for judging, but based on what I looked at last night, I see many everyday girls that could easily give that line up a run for their money.

Maybe we should have a Miss DR1 or Mr Sankie? Mr Sankie winner could get free Internet access and a Pay Pal account for a year

I see many of these girls on daily basis in plaza internacional and I know how some of these girls started up. They are pretty but not made in heaven. They are your normal everyday girls that you see in santiago discos / bars. There are tons of girls who are far more prettier and smarter than those that you have seen on the website. Like I said, they all have heavy Michael Jackson (cake) makeup on to hide their facial skin flaws. These girls always walk around in heavy makeup, even when they are working out in the gym.
My current mocana (girlfriend from moca) can put many of these girls to shame without even make-up. She is naturally beautiful.

all you have to do is come to santiago and spend an hour at plaza internacional during 6pm - 7. Then head on to universities, PUCMM and Utesa and see all the miss universes that you can handle.

That's why I haven't comment on this topic at all thus far. When I took a look at the pictures, i saw beauty yes, but nothing out of this world. What I saw was basically very plastic and manly looking girls. Why would a twenty something year old woman need so much make up? Because they do not have the best of skin, and the makeup hides it and in some cases makes them lighter.

I have to agree with AZB on this one. Santiago girls are very pretty girls who glow with great skin and natural beauty.

The darker skin people (morenos) have no political or social voice in this country. Dominican republic is controlled by the whites. The richer whites make the rules here and the rest (darker folks) follow. The only time the darker skin folks have a chance in making political changes is through voting. Dominicans can be vary racists too. You foreigners only see darker foklks here because they are the ones who serve you in resorts, clean your houses, work in restaurants and become your girlfriends. The whiter folks don't roam the streets. They stay at home go to universities shop at malls and simply drive around in cities like Santiago, santo domingo and the rest of cibao. You folks hardly see them because you never leave your resort or the beach. In other words, you folks only see black dominicans.
back to your question: The white folks run the show here and naturally the whiter skin girls get to represent the dominican republic. If you move around a certain circle of people in santiago, you would think most dominicans are of whiter skin because you will hardly find darker dominicans in such places.
Now many would not agree with me but thats the truth here in DR.

Readytogo, I simply don't make "claims" its a dialy occurance for me and to many in santiago. My friends at Dr1 have seen my girlfriends and many know what I am, not full of $h*T. My recent Mocana was with me in sosua and Escott and another lovely Dr1 lady has met her. So if you like to meet Cibao Beauties, come to Cibao. I will not post anyone's picture here. Its would not be fair to her.

Readytogo, I don't know what the big deal is here. I am not sure what part of this island do you live in but in santiago, these girls you see in the miss universe website are very common sight. These girls that you have seen on the website are your common girls who study at universities like PUCMM, Utesa, O&M (moca) etc etc. They are dime a dozen in this country. What do you think, they come from the sky and only appear on TV and magazines? These girls are not all lesbians, they go out with guys like myself and if she is a hooker, she may even go out with you. Its not really a big of a deal to date one of these girls. Would you like to meet some of these girls in santiago? its quite easy. I will tell you where some of them work. May be you have been dating the sosua monsters for too long and so it seems so hard to believe on your part that guys like myself can date girls of this caliber.
Now I didn't say my girl is better looking than all of them, all I said that my girl can put half of these girls to shame without even makeup on. This is a fact. She is stunningly beautiful and you will be surprised.

Anyay, getting back on the track of beautiful dominican women.
I was at Utesa university last night waiting on my girl and boy o boy, I had never seen so many cute girls (dressed to kill) in such a short time. The whole world seem to only talk about venzuelan girls but these girls would probably put alot of venezuelan girls to shame anyday. Girls go to university, dressed as if they are heading to a miami disco. They are all always neatly dressed in sexy atire, tight jeans or sexy dresses on their curvy bodies. I wonder how the male student body could concentrate on the lectures, let alone study for hard exams. I wouldn't want to be a professor in dominican rep. universities. I would not be able to stay on course. These girls come all dressed to punish the men. Now folks, this is only the Utesa university, we have PUCMM where the girls are even more hotter looking and from richer families. I tell you, if you want to see miss universe type girls, just hang around the entrance of these universities and watch your lower jaw drop to the floor. These girls are all gorgeous and friendly to talk to. They always have a inviting smile on their faces and they are all in good mood.
