in the USA, every revista sticker is traceable. the number of the inspection station that issues it is on the sticker. therefore, if a guy takes a bribe, and passes a car with bad brakes, he is looking for trouble. if the motorist gets into an accident, and a check of the car reveals faulty brakes, the inspection guy is looking at some very serious charges, and jail time

in the DR, who needs to worry about that? the revistas will be sold like lottery tickets; first come, first serve.

What I can't get my head around is how they think they're going to "inspect" 3 million vehicles by the end of the year!

they are not. some guys are going to make a boatload of money, and the politicians will issue a press release that the streets are safe again, having been rid of the scourge of cars without headlights

will motos without headlights or mirrors fail the inspection? If so, we would be down to 1 million of vehicles on the road..
