I don't know about current or Santo Domingo but Santiago map is kind of hard go live by. First time I used two maps, those maps made me take 1/2 miles detour just for the hack of it. I use it for emergency bases or if I want shortest distance from your position to BIG name POI but I would not depend my life on it. For those don't have smart phone or have bad sense of direction, it really is wonderful device to have though.
