guns like to be cleaned, oiled and used from time to time. The rust mery small and fits in your pocker like your car keys.ay have ruined the blue finish and you may need to reblue. Its pretty obvious when you remove the rust if the finish is still ok. Living near the ocean you should only have either stainless steel or chromed guns. Blue finish guns will require too much care to keep thr rust at bay. As far as cleaning the internals after firing its not as important as it used to be. Modern ammo is non corrosive. My personal favorite carry gun is an inexpensive 22 magnum 5 shot stainless steel revolver made in US by North American Arms. Its very small and fits in your pocket like the car keys. Carried mine for the last 15 years, put thousands of rounds thru it and never cleaned or oiled it. Still looks new. Still waiting for a robber, mugger,or thief to bust a move. No luck so far but I am optomistic. Maybe tomorrow. A shame to have all that practice and permit expense go to waste.
That's actually what I would prefer but it is something I probably should learn how to do!
