Haiti - Economy : Beer Prestige soon in the DR market

Thursday at the Hotel Kinam II Petionville, Wilson Laleau the Minister of Trade and Industry (MCI), participated in the 4th High Level Bilateral meeting around of private investment, trade relations and the strengthening of control of the border areas between Haiti and the Dominican Republic. The meeting was chaired by the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe and the Dominican Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andres Navarro.
Wilson Laleau, presented to members of the Dominican government and the private business sector, the project of Micro Industrial Parks (MPI) implemented by his ministry. He also pleaded for the creation of a structured framework aimed at building trust between the private sectors of both countries and insisted on the exchange of business information between sectors of the two Republics.
The two leaders agreed on the need to work together to increase economic growth on the island, through fair trade. In this sense, the Haitian government has asked that there be reciprocity in bilateral trade.
The two governments are committed to offer their full support to mentor businessmen of both nations, have agreed to formalize trade and investment, two fundamental elements for the development of the island.
Businessmen from both countries, who took part in this successful meeting, exchanged on many opportunities between the two countries. During this meeting, Sr. Jos? del Castillo, the Dominican Minister of Industry and Trade, said that there is no restriction for Haitian products. Government officials and businessmen Dominican confirmed that they had no objection for the Haitian beer Prestige is imported into the Dominican market.
The Minister Laleau and his Dominican counterpart, agreed to hold a series of discussions and of planning in order to boost and formalize trade and investment between the two republics.
