In the Haitian way, Haitian merchants broke the locks on the Haitian side of the gate to Dajabón to reinstate trade with the Dominican Republic on the northern side of the border. As reported, the Haitians said that in the same way people are building the canal, others who are merchants need to continue to trade with the Dominican Republic. Once the border gates were open, several trucks passed.
