Hi Coco,

Stay positive while she makes the decision.

I really think they ask the strange questions to test a couples communication. Those questions aren't really relevant to your application but knowing the answers shows that a couple talks about a variety of things in their day to day relationship...not just about when the next holiday is, when the next money will be sent and/or a visa.

Those types of questions are used to guage how a person answers a question when they are caught off guard and/or dont know the answer. If they do know the answer they measure how quickly or calmly they answer. It helps them to read the person being interviewed and possibly to see if/when someone is lying.

It sounds positive that you had everything ready that she was looking for plus extras. That shows you are prepared and serious and aren't wasting her time.

Hopefully you will get the good news soon.

Coco,

your husband was not denied at the interview so that is definitely reason to remain positive. So is the fact that he had the requested documentation.

I wouldn't worry about the fact that she didn't seem to be listening while she was typing in the computer - I'm sure she was listening to everything and that was just another technique to see if it will rattle the person being interviewed.

Stay strong!

my two friends got their interview today and the woman gave them a 2 months. The first one is for convincing her not to deny them with some extra proofs... and the second one seemed to went well cause she left her phone number en case of need. They dont have to provide more proofs and she explained him that they were doing this hard to help us...

Coco,

I have a question... she explained that there were making it this hard to help us...... Help us do what??? In mu opinion, couples who honestly, truly love each other and want to be together shouldn't have to wait sooo long if they meet all the requirements.

I understand CIC is just doing their job but alot of people are having to wait a really long time to be with thier loved one.

Jess1,

I think what they mean by "making it hard to help" - is that they are weeding out the real relationships from the fake. Unfortunately, their methods are not 100% accurate and they do issue visas to people that have misled their spouses and they deny people that are in genuine relationships.

Its because a lot of women called the ambassy to tell themm that the dominican is gone after few months. These women are claiming that its the ambassys fault...so theyre helping us with being so rude and giving such time to wait.

By the way, i knew today that a girl got a mail to drup the passport after 5 months and without interview!!! I cant understand were the justice is....cause were are at 15 months and have to wait more time maybe 2 months before having a clue of whats happening next...

Hi!

Remember that my husband was given the 90 days for more proof at his interview on april 30th. It has been 90 days and 2 weeks now. Im still in process on the CIC website. My MP called and in the system it says : revision august 13 at sept 12.

I dont know what it means. I hope that this will end soon. We are now at 15 months!

I just want my husband with me here...

On a other website, there his a qu?b?coise who send her papers in febuary 2009. She was asked this week to drop the passeport!!!!!! 5 months!

This is so unfair ...

It is so hard to understand why it goes smoothly for some and not for others while you are waiting for this process to complete, but just have faith that it will all work out the way it is supposed to in the end.

I used to spend hours trying to figure out why someone got finished faster then us etc. It is a waste of time!!! No one will ever figure this system out as it is always changing and as new staff come on board.

Unfortunately there are some relationships that are not genuine and that puts so much pressure on the Immigration officers to make the right decision. This has happened to several people lately and I am sure that has a lot to do with the processing times.

Stay strong - lean on everyone here for support - and you will soon get through all of this. I know your emotions and feelings are all over the place right now and rightfully so. They definitely leave you waiting and guessing as to our spouses fates.

This should make some people happy to know that the IO's in Haiti are not discriminating against sponsors from Quebec!

today my hubby got an email telling him that he has to provide more proofs of his 0-5 years such as birth certificate with the real year (my husband was declared 5 years later), certificate used to registre him at the primary school, certificate of baptismo and more proofs.

We gave a letter at the interview telling that he wasnt baptis? ans that we cant have the papel of the school. We gave her too the hospitals certificate.

They told us that we HAVE to provide ALL this documents if we dont want our case with deny.

Seems like they are searching ways to deny us... cause they already know that we wont have such documents. All we will have is another paper of hospital, paper of the primary school, certificate of the inscription of primary school??? and a declaration of his mother in front of lawyer.

What more can we do??? it wasnt telling what to do if we dont have one paper...

Coco please read the info below

Requirements of Canadian immigration if birth of a Dominican was not registered within three months.

The Canadian Embassy in Haiti processes applications coming from the Dominican Republic. We normally require Dominican nationals to provide the original or a certified copy of their birth certificate

("acta de nacimiento (in extensa)" or "extracto de acta") from the Direccion Nacional del Registro del Estado Civil.

If the birth was not registered within the three months of the actual birth, we require additional documents to verify the birth and identity.

Such documents can be;
hospital or clinic record
baptismal certificate, etc.
along with a written explanation why the birth was registered late.

Find more info here http://www.dr1.com/forums/visas/60392-dominican-birth-certificates-other-documents.html

They are not looking for reasons to deny you. Everyone has to come up with these documents. Everyone!

Coco,

why can't you get his school records? Anna is right - they are not looking for reasons to deny you - this is standard procedure if a birth was registered late.

This happened to another poster - his wife's school had had a fire so the records were gone. Before you send the documents maybe you could get your MP to help you out especially if there is something that you cannot provide.

thats not the fact that they emailed us that they want this documents but that they already know that i dont have it cause i already wrote the letter telling that we were searching it and cant have it. They already know that my husband is not baptis? so... why telling us that we have to provide such document if they know that we cant have it??? Why telling us after such time waiting? in the mail, they didnt tell us what to do if we dont have such document, its telling that if we cannot provide ALL of the document than they will return the papers!!!! So now what do I do? It seems that i wont be able to provide such document and than... they will deny us for that. its what i wanted to say. is it more clear now? Hihihih

Coco,

This is all technical stuff required to be in the file when a birth is registered late.

Sounds like they dont have any problem with the genuineness of your relationship.

Try not to stress too much.

If your husband wasn't baptised, you need to write a clear letter explaining that. They cant make you produce something that never existed.

All you can do is send what you have and include a letter stating which documents you provided at the interview as well. Sounds like maybe they haven't looked at that?

I'm a little confused that you gave them a letter saying you cant get the school records but then say that you have papers from the school? Are they different papers or did I miss something?

If you need clarification on what they are requesting, why dont you email haiti or call your MP to get some assistance?

Some of the documents they ask for are very difficult to get but not impossible.

It may mean going to the town where he was born & looking through the registry books yourself to find the document in question. I know a couple that had to do that......not easy and took hours but they found it and are now together in Canada. :)

I know you are stressing out but take it as a good sign that its not the relationship thats in question.

Good Luck

on a side note: did they give your husband any trouble about your previous marriage? hope not!!

keep staying positive that you will get everything they need.
