I've had bronchitis since Tuesday last. It's kicking my ass big time.

What would the board suggest? I have a nasty cough and sinus drainage to start a river. I also got about 2 hours of sleep last night which was the worst so far

As an aside, do pharmacies carry Nyquil? That was my goto med when I couldn't sleep because of congestion.

Thanks in advance

Rob

If it's that bad, I would actually recommend seeing a doctor. Both of our kids and my wife have had huge similar problems and the stuff that they have had prescribed has been pretty damn efficient. As you've now had it for 5 days, I would personally not continue without seeing a doctor...

As someone who gets bronchitis from sinus issues, I would see a doctor. Last thing you need is for it to turn into pneumonia. I know that taking Nyquil, etc.. helps for a bit but it is just temporary. You may need a strong antibiotic.

I agree and due to experience. Coughing 2-3 days is okay, but then it may take the turn to worse and if you don't get sleep, that certainly won't help in recovering. It's a horrible chain reaction.

The Rezplen I mentioned is Clarithromycin, an antibiotic that will have him feeling much better in a day or two. My earlier post was a copy/paste from the email my doctor sent me. :)

I’ve had it before but never this bad
Ok reason I asked is as a kid I had regularly bronchitis and we found out it was mainly triggered by wool, once that was taken away I grew over it. If the cause is not a flu/virus it could be a kind of dust, pollen or animal hair that trigger. Take care..

There's been a bad flu going around. I had it for about 10 days. Longest I've ever had a flu since I've been here. "Broncochem Tos" worked wonders for the cough and lung congestion. Algho(amarillo) tablets worked great for the nasal congestion. It contains pseudoephedrine which is illegal OTC in the US.

Why take chances, with all that's going around ?

I would go to a doctor, as they know the various ingredients in the over the counter meds as well and will choose those you particularly need.

Hope someone can help you, and get your meds and make you soups.

Feel better.

Jeez and I thought coming to an expat forum for financial and legal advice (aside from our sponsoring attorneys in the legal forum) was quite the cake-taker. But looky hee! We have medical professionals and I didn't even know. Well I guess if you've been in a decades long coma and wake up one day realizing you can't even take care of yourself with a simple cold, we have plenty of board certified docs to give you a free consultation!

No Hijo, just there are some of us (JD and I for example) that have experienced it (bronchitis) more times than we care to. So, we have some idea of what one can do to help relieve the symptoms. Bronchitis can be scary, especially if it starts to affect your breathing.

Sure, I get it. I completely understand
