If you search a few pages back wine has already been discussed. Apparently its not that good and its best to bring a couple of your own bottles if you really want to guarantee something nice, if I remember rightly I think it can be quite sweet.

Sorry to be a pain but can anyone remember what pages all the decent pictures are on as i need to email tham to some of my wedding party and cant remember where they were. pretty please

MALARIA INFO

Just come back from docs, She got the book, map and chart out for malaria. Where the H\V is, is in a low risk area. If i wanted to take malaria tablets, she said it was a CHLOROGUINE sensitive area. Side effects of which are, Headache, nausea, vomiting, itching, hair discolouration or hair loss, convulsions, mood changes or other effects on behaviour,changes in your blod, mouth ulcers, rash and transient eye problems. Myself and my 2 children will not be taking the malaria tablets. Have also been given web sites to get more info. Malaria Hotspots - why and how to protect yourself against this mosquito borne disease fit for travel Not looked at these myself yet, Hope info helps anyone

Good news, you will find plenty of fruit, yougart and juice. They do also do a rather nice Banana smoothie at the breakfast buffet.

The coffee is great but it is not always very hot.

Hola,Good Morning to all ,sitting in my shorts Temp.about 26 and beautiful,Ate at the Mexican rest.15 of us we all had an awesome meal with the waiters singing to us the whole time it was great.Wine in the alacart much better than buffet.The entertainment on Sun nite was all dominican,Fabulous.Meals have all been great Turkey,better than mom makes for all who are concerned, don't be its all GREAT. Planner please pm me as my hubby is slowly eating all the chocolate!!!!!Off to snorkle at sosua beach, Sorry not much time to sit at computer, so please planner make date for sat. or sun.

suitcases packed, dogs all bathed and groomed ready to go to the sitters. Just about time to go catch the ferry and then enjoy an evening in Vancouver before we get up very early to catch the plane. Sun and cool drinks at the HVGB, here we come...

Hey - don't eat that chocolate.

Seems like you all don't need me so much anymore....LOL Don't worry this is a good thing.

I will be at the resort on Thursday to meet some people in the lobby at 7pm!

And, I will be at the resort on Saturday at 6pm to meet anyone who wants to meet me. I will be in the reception area lobby again. But then I can be convinced to go elsewhere.....LOL

I am glad people visiting are posting! Keep it up.

Malaria update. We got the malaria drugs from our dr and have taken them twice now. No side effects to date. Have discovered however they are unnecessary as we have only seen 4 mossies in the 6 days we have been here!!!!! Bugs are not a problem for us.

At this point I don't really think there will be many "up to date photos" many of the areas will not change. However, I will try to go get some photos of the beach restaurant and will ask about a wedding and if I can take some shots for those interested.

Sounds good to me. I am the "petite" (means short) blonde, straight hair past my shoulders, cell phone attached to my hip, most likely with more clothes on then most at the hotel!

I look forward to meeting you.

My wife informed me only 17 more sleeps..does anyone know how to speed up time for two weeks..then slow it down to a crawl for the week you are away..

Anyone else heading to HV for the week Feb 23-Mar 02..

Don't know if these are the ones you are looking for but photos can be found on pages 55, 115 and 210. Hope that helps. ;)

What other clubs/bars are there other than Mangu, near the resort?

YEs their are hairdryers. But no curling irons honey....LOL

Other clubs:

Hemingways - Playa Dorada Plaza, can be fun, decent food too.

Roadway - Just behind Playa Dorada Plaza, younger crowd,I've not eaten there.

Crazy Moon - In paradise hotel, near the plaza, not my favourite.

Lots of local place to go to in Puerto Plata, no american music, little reggaeton and no hip hop...... Just great local music and local prices.

Casino - is a good one. Not sure about the jackpot.
