I've been there from Dec 23-30, 06 for the first time to DR. I found the resort is nice and comfy, but not luxury, mory family oriented. They got a lot for kids, chess, ping pong, kid's club, swimming, soccer, nite show, etc. But night entertainment for adult is not much, only bingo, and a couple singers sing and dance on stage, not the caribbean type show, the performer didn't dress up their caribbean costumes to perform, so nothing special at all, a bit disappoint. The pools are okay, but not big and deep, like they are mainly for kids, but wave pool and water slides are fun. Beach is not what I expect, the water not clear and many sea grasses, also many sea grasses all over the beach too, make it look like very dirty, so I don't swim much there, I rather go to Sousa beach, much better water, very clear and clean. And me and my husband find the room is nice and comfy, but they still using their old furnitures, i guess they only renovate the bathroom, but the room hasn't done much on it. Staffs are nice and polite. They usually refill your water daily to your room when they see empty bottle in your room, so don't woory, you don't have take bottle and refill yourself. And actually they got some extra features that not listed in signature brouchure. They have coffee maker and mini fridge with beer and soft drinks inside. So overall, it is pretty good resort, except the beach is a bit disappoint to me. If the beach is nicer, I will stay in resort more time to swim and sunbath, but me and my husband rather join excursion to sousa beach and paradise island to do that.
