you can fly for this or have everything included in that price (incl taxes) to get down there?

If 818 is for everything then I would say that is a kick ass deal. We leave Thurs moirnig from TO as well.

yah thats tax included. The only problem we are having is my son has to write his exams starting the 25th and the high school will not bend the rules for writing them on the exact day. :pirate: :ermm:

If we leave on Feb 1 the rate is $1081 inclusive i dont think much of a savings
or we wait to book and see if it goes down? I think with the negative reviews it might not be booking too fast.

OttawaSenators have you heard on the radio they are advertising this place for buy one next one is half price? Was surprised to hear about this resort on the radio, that offer is on certain dates only..

We paid $951 w/ royal suites section. I haven't heard this on the radio though.

ah well. you never know when you getting the "best" deal. You just have to think that is a deal for you.

This is the cheapest vacation we have taken thus far (only by $100 max for 2 of us)

We shall see.

Downfall is having to drive to TO to catch the plane, Not so much going there, because it will be exciting knowing we are leaving, but coming back is a pain.

If you are not staying at the Royal Suites, can you go to the adult only bar lounge above the pool bar in the evening? Where do you go at night for dancing/drinking where the age is little higher then 19?

YOu cannot go into the Royale Suites area bar at night or any other time unless you have the red band.

You can go into the adult lounge if you are over 19.

Other places to go - do you mean off resort? What age Tiawa?

Airport - when you come off the plane follow the other people. After getting your luggage and clearing customs (such as it is) go out the doors and look for the sign saying Signature / First Choice. There are plenty of people to help you.

Cigarettes - available on resort or at Playa Dorada Plaza - 10 minute walk

Toothpaste - is readily available here but it is expensive. We pay up to $3 US per tube.

Baseball gear - absolutely!!! Baseball is the national pastime here and many kids have inadequate equipment. I can easily get that to the right people.

Car Rental - I do NOT recommend it. Instead go hire a taxi and driver for the day. It will end up costing about hte same (rental cars are not cheap here) and you will be a lot safer. And your husband can look around as much as he wants.....

Royale suites photo - as soon as I can I will get you interior shots. Anyone with a clean room I can photograph???

My entry - yes this is a secure resort. I am fairly well known in this resort and many others. I have lived and worked here a few years both in tourism and in other areas. So, I can get access to the resort. Don't worry you are very safe there.....LOL

Those travelling, don't forget the $20.00 US to get out of the country. Only cash is what we had to pay last year. I put it with my tickets so I don't spend it.

Which tour do you think is better. The Monster Truck Safari or Bavaro Runners north coast. We went on Bararo Runners Punta Cana it was great. I would like to see as much as the country as possible. Any one have any suggestions. It looks like they a similar. Just wondering which one would be better

There are vendors on Playa Dorada Beach which is where HV is. You need to be firm put polite with them if you are not interested. NO Gracias goes a long way and then break eye contact.

I've not done Bavaro Runners north coast so can't do a comparison for you. I do like Outback Safari though.

I don't want to bring this all up again but I thought I was correct in thinking that the only places you couldn't go if you were not staying in Royal Suites is the Adult only pool and the Adult only swim-up bar. I did think that all residents (adults) could use the adult only bar and adult only restuarant?? Is this not so?

From talking to local tour guides, my understanding is that there are no private beaches. Anyone can use any beach, and people living along the beach have to provide access to everyone. This means you can't stop locals from selling trinkets, hairbraiding, and tours on the beach.

There were people selling on the beach when we were at the HV, but we would just say no thank you and they wouldn't bother us anymore that day, but next time you were back at the beach they'd try again.

I didn't find the people to be harassing us, and a polite no thank you got them to back off.

Some times the Ketchup may not taste like home. My girlfried only like Heinz brand so she brings hers from home.
